STGT cementing its leading status in the glove business with completion of the amalgamation

On 1 April 2019, Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited (“STA”) announced the completion of the amalgamation between Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Company Limited (“STGT”) and Thaikong Public Company Limited (“TK”). The new company resulting from the amalgamation is named “Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Public Company Limited.” As a result of the amalgamation, STA now has five facilities for the production of latex and nitrile gloves for medical and lifestyle uses located in the provinces of Song Kla, Surat Thani and Trang in the south of Thailand, with a total production capacity of 21.2 billion pieces per annum, which is Thailand’s largest and ranks among the largest in the world. STA aims to have its place among the world’s top three glove producers in the foreseeable future. The change of name still reflects the identity and status of STGT as a full-fledged member of Sri Trang Group, the world’s leading fully-integrated green rubber company.

Veerasith Sincharoenkul, Director of STA, said that “STA is very pleased with the completion of the amalgamation, which is an important step in the capacity expansion plan to satisfy the growing global demand for gloves. As a result of the amalgamation, our production capacity will increase from 17.2 billion pieces per annum to 21.2 billion pieces per annum. By the end of 2019, our production capacity is expected to increase to 23 billion pieces per annum. Presently, we have expanded our customer base to over 120 countries around the world and will continue to deliver the “Touch of Life” on a global scale."
