STGT TO PROVIDE 10,000 STAFF AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH FREE COVID-19

11 February 2022Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Public Company Limited (“STGT” or the “Company”), a world-leading glove producer with a secondary listing on the SGX Mainboard, has procured 10,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine which is progressively being administered to all of its employees and some community members, as part of the Company’s effort to accelerate its corporate Covid-19 booster vaccination rate and promote staff and community well-being.

The booster vaccination drive follows the completion of the initial two-shot vaccination programme for all STGT employees in September 2021, when less than 40% of the country’s population was fully vaccinated. This month-long initiative, which began on 1 February, is gaining strong momentum with nearly 90% of the staff having received their third shot.  This is well ahead of the national booster vaccination rate with more than 60% of the population currently awaiting their allotted time to receive their booster.

In Thailand, those who have been inoculated with three vaccine doses enjoy significantly more freedom in their movement within the country as they can return to work at the office and access leisure and entertainment venues like parks and restaurants.

STGT CEO Ms. Jarinya Jirojkul, said, “The prolonged Covid-19 pandemic has been very challenging for all and STGT is committed to doing our best to provide our employees with a safe environment to work in and protect them from the potentially ravaging effects of the virus.  This corporate booster vaccination programme will help to ensure continuity of protection without their having to wait for their allotted time in the national booster vaccination drive.”

Part of the 10,000 booster doses will be allocated to family members of its STGT employees and to communities located in the vicinity of its manufacturing facility in Had Yai, Songkhla, Thailand, as an extension of the “Sri Trang Family Project” and “Sri Trang Group Sharing Love to Communities.” In previous engagement activities under these two initiatives, the Company donated gloves, masks and other medical necessities to the families and communities.

“STGT’s culture of giving is built on the belief that our success rests not only in the resources that we have but also in our ability to support and contribute to the communities that we operate in. We are glad to be able to share some of our booster vaccine doses with our communities, and we hope that recipients of these vaccines will be able to regain some form of normalcy in their lives sooner rather than later,” said Ms. Jirojkul.
