Sri Trang Gloves to Bring Production of Exam Gloves to the USA Tampa, FL – June 25, 2021
Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Public Company Limited (“Sri Trang Gloves”), has a strong interest in expanding their glove manufacturing footprint with a campus in the USA. Sri Trang Gloves is exploring several locations in both the Southwest and Southeast as candidates. The proposed 100-plus acre campus will serve as a North American hub for Sri Trang Gloves comprising a nitrile glove manufacturing facility, distribution center and warehouse, and administrative complex. The facility will support Sri Trang Gloves’ existing operation in Tampa, Florida – Sri Trang USA, Inc. - and augment their east coast distribution centers.
Potential US production is estimated to reach 2.5 billion nitrile gloves annually after the first full year of production. The plans for the new facility incorporate the latest manufacturing technology, A.I., and increased automation to ensure operational efficiency commensurate with Sri Trang Gloves’ facilities in Thailand. “Adding glove production in the largest glove consumption market will shorten the lead-time and strengthen supply certainty for US customers currently purchasing from conventional sources of gloves in Asia. Additionally, the hub will bring comprehensive glove know-how as a valuable and much-needed market resource in North America. These gloves will be free from tariffs, import related supply chain disruptions, and can be supplied under both Sri Trang Gloves brands and OEM brands. The campus seeks to incorporate “Green” thinking with the potential for locally sourced materials, multipurpose areas, and eco-friendly energy sources. The US factory will create hundreds of quality jobs in a variety of areas including production, engineering, and logistics. To support this initiative we anticipate coordination with local and federal governmental agencies for various kinds of incentives. However, these are subject to the completion of feasibility study expectedly to be done by Q4 2021.” said William E. Harris, III CEO of Sri Trang USA, Inc.
