STGT proceeds to expand customer base in Vietnam to set up a subsidiary to support the distribution of rubber gloves

Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Public Company Limited (STGT) is expanding the rubber glove market in the ASEAN region to support its business expansion plan by setting up a subsidiary in Vietnam for the distribution of rubber gloves.

Ms. Jarinya Jirojkul, President of Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Public Company Limited or STGT, the world's largest manufacturer and distributor of natural rubber gloves and nitrile rubber gloves, revealed that on 26 November, last year the Company established SRI TRANG GLOVES VIETNAM COMPANY LIMITED (STGV) of which the Company holds 100% stake, with a registered capital of USD 1 million, to support plans to expand overseas markets. The said company will take care of the distribution of rubber gloves products in Vietnam.

The Company views Vietnam as one of the countries in the ASEAN region with potential and a strong tendency that the demand for rubber gloves will continue to increase in the long term. Because Vietnam is an emerging market, the consumption rate of rubber gloves is still low. There are also positive factors from economic growth and advancement in the health care system in the country. It also has a population of more than 90 million.

Establishment of a subsidiary in Vietnam to support the distribution of products is in line with the plan to expand the market in ASEAN countries. In the previous period, a subsidiary was established in Singapore to support the management of research and development of new products including the distribution of rubber gloves, as well as another subsidiary in Indonesia to support the distribution of rubber gloves.

"The Company plans to expand its business by establishing subsidiaries in ASEAN countries so as to take care of the distribution and marketing itself which will help increase flexibility and generate more sales. After this, it is planned that a subsidiary will be set up in the Philippines which is another market with high growth potential," said Ms. Jarinya.
